BENIN—AS Nigerians from all walks of life continue to react to the planned introduction of a N5,000 currency note, two prominent Edo citizens have expressed their opinions on the issue with the former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Roland Owie, advising the Federal Government to call the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to order before it is too late.

However, former governor of Edo State, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, said there was nothing wrong with the introduction of the N5,000 currency note, noting that it would makes it easier and more convenient for individuals to carry bulk money.

Owie said: “I said it about two years that Nigerians should tell Sanusi that the CBN is not Kano Emirate.

“If he has exhausted all the ideas in his head and now wants to destroy the country finally, he should please, thrown in the towel. Enough is enough.”
