KANO – Ten people were roasted to death late Saturday in Kano metropolis while returning from a wedding party.

Eyewitness account told Vanguard that the ghastly motor accident also saw 3 others occupants of the ill-fated vehicles sustaining life threatening injuries.

Vanguard learnt that the two vehicles involved in the auto crash, along the ever busy Zaria road, rammed into a pedestrian bridge when the drivers lost control of the vehicles and exploded into a ball of fire.

The fire that consumed the innocent lives was said to have been triggered by gallons of Premium Motor Spirit (fuel) strategically placed along the pedestrian bridge by yet to be identified hawker.

The eyewitness account further confided in Vanguard that 7 out of the 14 people involved in the crash were teenagers.

Rescues operation came late as the number of people in the street had reduced, while the few ones available could do less until the arrival of the fire service men.
