IKEJA – Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, weekend, presented sub-lease title documents to 1,000 allottees who bought property from government agencies before January 1, 2000 and before the presentation, had no title documents.

The beneficiaries include occupants of Ministry of Housing, Lagos State Development and Property Corporation, LSDPC and Lagos Building Investment Company.

Presenting the documents at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, the governor, said on assumption of office for the first term in 2007, his administration was concerned about the large number of properties in Lagos State without registered titles.

Fashola was represented by Commissioner for Housing, Bosun Jeje, at the presentation. “Government therefore decided to do a number of things to assist properties owners in registering their titles, in order to reduce the large number of properties without registered titles in the State.

Applications for registration of the houses in the government estates concerned Fashola added were categorised into; high income, medium income and low income and that such applications were accepted from house owners on payment of concessionary charges of N20,000, N15,000 and N10,000 respectively.

Applicants who have paid the said concessionary charges fixed for the processing of their registered titles and have filled the requisite forms are therefore advised to go to the government housing agencies processing their applications, to sign their Sub-Lease Title Deeds.
