By Charles Mgbolu

Research In Motion (RIM), maker of BlackBerry range of smart devices will participate in this year’s Middle East and Africa IDC IT Security Roadshow to be held in Lagos.

In a keynote presentation, RIM will discuss the practical security needs for businesses that allow confidential data to be sent and received by employees using mobile devices.

Nader Henein, a Security Advisor at RIM who will be presenting, said, “The robust BlackBerry security architecture is highly accredited and is trusted by many of the most security-conscious organizations around the world.

Ranjit Rajan, Director Software, IDC Middle East and Turkey said, “It is an honour to have RIM participating in the IDC IT Security Roadshow across 10 cities.  Consumerisation of IT is leading to increased use of smartphones and related mobile applications by employees in the workplace. The lines between personal and professional use are also blurring.

Organizations are increasingly implementing Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) strategies. These trends are building pressure on IT managers to focus greater attention on mobile security management. RIM’s participation in the Roadshow will help raise awareness on this important topic.”
