The Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Kogi State Government to strengthening collaboration with security agencies in promoting youth development, crime prevention, and sustainable peace across the state.

Hon. Anyebe made this known during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Nasiru B. Kankarofi, alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations.

The Commissioner described the visit as timely and rewarding, commending CP Kankarofi for his exemplary leadership, professionalism, humility, and people-centered approach to policing. He noted that the positive transformation within the Kogi State Police Command reflects the dedication and commitment of its leadership to safeguarding lives and property while fostering public confidence in law enforcement.

Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Anyebe emphasized that addressing the challenges confronting young people requires a coordinated effort among government institutions, security agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders. He stressed that investing in youth empowerment, sports development, education, and skills acquisition remains one of the most effective strategies for preventing crime and social vices.

According to him, creating opportunities for young people will not only reduce their vulnerability to criminal activities but also position them as responsible citizens and active contributors to the growth and development of Kogi State.

The discussions also explored practical areas of collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Nigeria Police Force, with both parties expressing a shared commitment to initiatives that promote peace, security, and positive youth engagement.

Hon. Anyebe expressed appreciation to CP Kankarofi for the warm reception and fruitful engagement, describing him as one of the most approachable and accessible Commissioners of Police in the country.

He reaffirmed that the Kogi State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, remains committed to building strategic partnerships that enhance security, empower young people, and create an environment where every resident can live, work, and thrive in peace.
