The opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 14th July, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, under the theme: “Housing Solutions for Low Income and Informal Workers in Africa.”
Senator Anyim is widely respected for his remarkable contributions to national development, public service, and his enduring commitment to policies that promote infrastructure, housing, and sustainable economic growth. His wealth of experience in governance and leadership makes him an outstanding choice to preside over this landmark event as AIHS celebrates two decades of advancing housing development across Africa.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), Festus Adebayo, the opening ceremony is expected to attract an impressive array of distinguished guests, including two State Governors, several Ministers from Nigeria and other African countries, heads of government agencies, development finance institutions, diplomats, investors, captains of industry, and other key stakeholders in the housing and construction sector.
He disclosed that more than 20,000 participants are expected during the week-long event, which will feature over 300 exhibitors showcasing innovative housing technologies, construction materials, real estate developments, housing finance solutions, building products, and other cutting-edge products and services.
Adebayo added that AIHS 2026 will provide prospective homebuyers with a unique opportunity to interact directly with developers, mortgage banks, housing finance institutions, manufacturers, and other industry players, giving them access to affordable housing opportunities, flexible financing options, and the latest innovations that can help turn their dream of owning a home into reality.
He further noted that beyond exhibitions, AIHS 2026 will serve as a continental platform for networking, investment, policy dialogue, business matchmaking, and strategic partnerships aimed at accelerating affordable housing delivery and sustainable urban development across Africa.
“The participation of Distinguished Senator Pius Anyim as Chairman of the Opening Ceremony reflects the growing importance of AIHS as Africa’s foremost platform for housing policy dialogue, investment promotion, innovation, and strategic partnerships. His leadership and statesmanship will further enrich discussions aimed at expanding access to affordable housing, particularly for low-income and informal workers across the continent,” Adebayo stated.
The 20th Anniversary Edition of AIHS is expected to attract participants from more than 25 countries, including ministers, governors, lawmakers, development finance institutions, housing finance experts, investors, developers, construction companies, manufacturers, researchers, professional bodies, and international development partners.
Participants will engage in high-level policy dialogues, investment forums, exhibitions, technical sessions, business networking, innovation showcases, product launches, housing project presentations, and strategic partnerships designed to accelerate housing delivery and urban development across Africa.
As Africa’s largest housing and construction event, AIHS remains committed to providing a continental platform where governments, the private sector, development partners, and communities collaborate to develop practical and sustainable housing solutions for low-income and informal workers.
