Lafarge Africa Plc has officially unveiled a new corporate identity and name, now to be known as HBM Nigeria Plc, marking what the company described as a major milestone in its transformation journey and strategic realignment under a new shareholder structure.

The announcement was made at a formal unveiling event in Lagos, where the company said the rebrand reflects its continued evolution as a leading building solutions provider in Nigeria, while strengthening global industrial collaboration.

The firm emphasised that the name change would not disrupt its operations, workforce, customer base, shareholder interests, or its long-standing commitment to Nigeria’s economic development and infrastructure expansion.

Speaking on the development, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, said the new identity ushers in a forward-looking phase anchored on operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, and long-term value creation.

“HBM Nigeria Plc represents an exciting new chapter in our journey as a leading building solutions company. While our corporate identity is evolving, our commitment to Nigeria remains unwavering,” he said.

He added that the transition would be implemented in phases across the company’s nationwide operations, assuring stakeholders of seamless business continuity, sustained investment, and enhanced focus on value creation across host communities and the broader economy.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the company, Gbenga Oyebode, said the rebrand was designed to position the organisation for long-term success while preserving its legacy values.

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our shareholders for their continued trust, to the Board and Management for their leadership, and to our employees whose dedication continues to drive the company forward,” he said, expressing confidence in the company’s future growth trajectory.

In his remarks, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, commended the company for its longstanding contributions to Nigeria’s infrastructure development, noting its role in delivering key projects across the country.

He described the company’s products as “impeccable” and acknowledged its strict adherence to quality and integrity standards in the sector.

The company stated that while its corporate identity has changed, the rollout of its new branding and operational integration would continue progressively across all touchpoints to ensure seamless service delivery and stakeholder confidence.
