The Democratic Republic of the Yoruba (D.R.Y.) has announced plans for a public event it describes as the One Million Freedom March, which the organizers say is intended to bring together supporters to express their views on Yoruba identity, cultural preservation, and self-determination.

According to the current leadership and Provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, the planned event follows the inauguration of its Provisional Government on 12 April 2024, during which His Excellency Mobolaji Olawale Akinola Omokore was sworn in as Provisional President and Head of the Provisional Government.

They say he has remained committed to its stated objectives over several years and has continued to lead the Provisional Government despite changes in membership over time.
