On speaking about his motivation for undertaking such activities, Michael stated that his vision emerged when he realized the ever-widening difference between academic knowledge and its actual implementation by the African youth.

“Africa has brilliant minds and enormous potential,” he said. “What many young people lack is not intelligence, but access to the right guidance, research exposure, digital tools, and educational structure needed to compete globally.”

As a holder of a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Economics from Girne American University, Michael is a professional researcher and mentor with skills in econometric analyses and education consultancy services. He has vast experience in teaching, data analysis, and leadership in educational institutions and the corporate sector.

At the moment, Nwogu works as a Block Tutor and a Research Assistant at Universal Empire College, where he actively mentors students on research methodologies, economics, data analysis, and academic writing. He is also a contributor to departmental research activities, planning the academics of individual students, and conducting educational seminars to enhance their analytical and critical thinking skills.

According to him, technology is essential in bringing education reforms and making research more accessible, especially in developing countries where the students may lack many academic opportunities.

“Technology is changing the future of education,” Nwogu stated. “Students no longer need to be limited by geography or institutional barriers. With the right digital systems and mentorship, research and learning can become more accessible, practical, and impactful.”

Through the company Michael UN Educational Services and Tech Ltd, he has further continued to offer educational and technology-related services geared towards assisting students, researchers, and young professionals. The company offers academic counseling services, research assistance, educational technology, and skills development services intended to assist young Africans to be ready for participation in the global knowledge economy.

His previous experience as a Data Analyst at Mortgage Konsult Ltd has further enhanced his capacity to link research to practical economic solutions through statistical analysis, business performance evaluations, and econometrics that provided basis for evidence-based decision making in the real estate industry.

His research interests have largely focused on financial inclusion, economic growth, environmental sustainability, and development economics in Africa. Notable among his works is one paper focusing on how financial inclusion and remittances are connected to economic growth in ECOWAS member countries. His other collaborative research papers focus on agriculture production, carbon emissions, and household waste management.

Speaking on the importance of research development in Africa, Michael emphasized that sustainable progress across sectors such as education, healthcare, finance, and governance depends heavily on credible data and research-informed decision-making.

“Research is the foundation of national development,” he explained. “Without proper data, innovation becomes difficult, policies become ineffective, and opportunities for growth are easily missed. Africa must invest more in research culture, digital education, and analytical capacity.”

Michael has also been very active on the front of mentoring young people in addition to being committed to academia and technology. Being a Co-Founder of Rehoboth Spring Charity, he has engaged in activities related to provision of educational aid, welfare assistance, mentoring, and outreach work in underprivileged areas.

His commitment to youth development is also reflected in his continuous mentorship of students and early-stage researchers, many of whom he trains in research methods, statistical software applications such as SPSS, STATA, and EViews, and the practical interpretation of empirical findings.
