The Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic killing of Miss Mariam Usman, a teacher at Brains Mind School, Ugbamaka Igah in Olamaboro Local Government Area.

In a condolence message, Hon. Anyebe described the incident as heartbreaking and condemned the killing of the young educator, who reportedly lost her life while carrying out her professional duty of correcting and disciplining her students.

The Commissioner extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the management and staff of Brains Mind School, the people of Ugbamaka Igah, and all those affected by the tragic incident.

He noted that teaching remains one of the noblest professions and stressed that no educator should lose their life in the line of duty. According to him, the unfortunate incident is a painful loss not only to the victim’s family but also to the education sector and Kogi State as a whole.

Hon. Anyebe assured the family that justice would be pursued, expressing confidence in the security and law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that everyone found culpable is brought to justice.

He prayed for God to comfort the bereaved family and grant the late Miss Mariam Usman eternal rest, while calling on residents to remain peaceful and support efforts to ensure justice is served.
