The board of trustees of Ngalasi Centre for Cohesion and Development, has announced the passing of its founder and matrich Mrs Veronica Ngalasi Igwe.
She quietly transited to glory on the 2nd of June in a hospital in Enugu at the age of 86.
The announcement of her passing was contained in a statement released from their secretariat in Port Harcourt and made available to journalists.
Commenting on the Development, the co-founder of the Centre, Dr. Uche Igwe described the passing of his mother as both a moment of grief and that of celebration.
“My grief is deep at the loss of my mother because she gave everything she had to support us. I saw the signs but I was still wishing she could stay just a little longer with us. I wish I had any powers to extend her life. Our mother embodied resilience, entrepreneurship, faith and stoicism.
“She was an apostle of peace and a strong advocate of the transformative power of education.
“I am consoled that this centre is on stream to immortalize the modest but enduring legacies she embodied. We will stop amd nothing in propagating those values that made her sojourn on earth memorable and distictive”
The funerall of Late Mrs. Ngalasi Igwe has been fixed for the 24th of July in her hometown Ihitteaforukwu in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area. This was confirmed in an announcement by Dr. Leo Chikezie Igwe, head of the Igwe family and chief mourner of the deceased. Late Mrs Igwe is survived by children, grand children as well as great grand children.
