Nigerian content creator Mirabel Ehi Akugbe, popularly known as Pepperbody, has risen to prominence on TikTok after a video that sparked widespread reactions catapulted her into the limelight.

Pepperbody began posting videos in mid-2025 with modest success. Her breakthrough came in October when a particular video drew massive attention – some users mocked her appearance, while others defended and consoled her. The clip quickly went viral, garnering over 2.3 million views across TikTok and Instagram.

Reflecting on the unexpected turn, Pepperbody said in a recent video: “We were sitting on the footage for a year.”

The 19-year-old creator refused to be discouraged by the negativity. Instead, she used the moment to connect with a broader audience. She now boasts over 100,000 followers on TikTok and continues to create fresh, relatable content.

Born in Nigeria, Pepperbody always envisioned a career in content creation, acting, and performance. Although her parents initially preferred she focused on academics, she stayed true to her passion.

Despite a relatively slow start, Pepperbody has steadily built a strong presence on social media, particularly TikTok, where she engages fans with entertaining and authentic videos.

Her journey highlights how a single moment – even one born from controversy – can become a launching pad for greater visibility and influence in Nigeria’s competitive digital entertainment space.
