Founder of the Zee 1 for YAYI Support Group, Azeez Ayomikun Ibrahim, has declared that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, remains the leading candidate to beat ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
Ibrahim stated this while addressing political associates in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, where he praised the senator’s leadership credentials, achievements in public office, and growing grassroots appeal across the state.
According to him, Adeola’s track record of service, empowerment initiatives and developmental interventions have distinguished him from other candidates eyeing the state’s highest office.
Ibrahim said, “without any doubt, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola is the candidate to beat in the forthcoming governorship election. His achievements, leadership qualities and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people have clearly set him apart from other aspirants”.
He noted that the senator’s empowerment programmes, infrastructural projects and educational support schemes have continued to impact lives across Ogun State, earning him widespread admiration among youths, women, traditional institutions and community leaders.
“Yayi has consistently demonstrated both capacity and compassion in public service. The people can see the positive difference he has made in the lives of ordinary citizens, and that is why his support base continues to grow across the state,” he added.
The support group founder further disclosed that the Zee 1 for YAYI Support Group had intensified its grassroots mobilisation efforts across the 20 local government areas of the inState in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
He explained that the group was committed to delivering overwhelming support for Senator Adeola and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) through extensive voter engagement and awareness campaigns.
According to him, the mobilisation drive is aimed at strengthening grassroots political structures, encouraging voter participation and educating residents on the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“We have commenced ward-to-ward mobilisation across the state. Our volunteers are engaging residents directly, sensitising them on the need to register, collect their PVCs and prepare to participate actively in the electoral process,” he stated.
Ibrahim stressed that voter education and civic responsibility remain central to the group’s strategy, adding that political participation is crucial to sustaining democratic governance and development.
“We have been encouraging our people to register and ensure their PVCs are ready ahead of the election. Active participation in the democratic process is essential if we are to achieve the progress we desire,” he said.
He further stated that the group’s support extends beyond Senator Adeola’s governorship ambition, noting that it would also mobilise support for all APC candidates seeking elective positions in the state.
“Our support is firmly rooted in the belief that Senator YAYI and other APC candidates represent continuity, development and people-oriented leadership for Ogun State. We are convinced that they possess the vision and capacity needed to move the state forward,” Ibrahim said.
Speaking on the group’s strategy, he disclosed that efforts were underway to build a formidable grassroots network capable of reaching every ward and polling unit across the state, with particular emphasis on youth mobilisation and community engagement.
“Our strategy is simple but effective. We are going from door to door and community to community, ensuring that every eligible voter understands the importance of the Permanent Voter Card and recognises their role in shaping the future of Ogun State through the ballot,” he added.
