Leaders in Ewu Kingdom in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State have reaffirmed their support for His Royal Highness Abdul Razak Ojeifo III as the duly crowned and reigning Onojie of the kingdom.

The position was made known in a statement issued by the Secretary of the Ewu Development Association (EDA), Professor Bartholomew Uzoya Akagbosu, following a courtesy visit by a delegation of Ewu leaders to the Government House in Benin City.

The statement read: “With gratitude and respect, we also state our position clearly: Ewu Kingdom stands loyally with its crowned king, HRH Abdul Razak Ojeifo III, Onojie of Ewu Kingdom. He is the known, crowned, and reigning monarch, duly presented and enthroned by the kingmakers in strict accordance with the customs and traditions that have guided our stool for generations.”

The kingdom expressed appreciation to Governor Monday Okpebholo for granting them audience and for his commitment to peace and development across Edo State.

“Ewu Kingdom extends sincere appreciation to Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for granting our leaders a respectful audience and for the commendation he expressed toward our people’s peaceful conduct,” the statement said.

Governor Okpebholo, represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Musa Yakubu, commended the people of Ewu Kingdom for maintaining peace despite the ongoing kingship dispute.

Yakubu assured the delegation: “I want to assure you that your concerns have been noted and will be conveyed to the governor. Governor Okpebholo is committed to peace, development and the well-being of every community in Edo State.”

The delegation also appealed to the governor to help facilitate a peaceful resolution to the kingship dispute in the kingdom.

The visit concluded with renewed assurances of cooperation between the Edo State Government and the people of Ewu Kingdom.
