Ebonyi: We suspended excos before their purported resignation – NDC State Chairman

The Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ebonyi State, Prince Enyinnaya Alum Udensi, has urged members of the public to disregard the purported resignations of its former party executives, saying it is a subtle cover-up for their suspension from the party.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Udensi said the affected officials were suspended pending investigation by the national leadership of the party.

Prince Udensi noted that the party had received a petition detailing allegations of financial impropriety, breach of the party constitution, and other acts considered prejudicial to the party’s interest.

He stated: “The NDC in Ebonyi State had since after the primary elections formally petitioned the aforementioned principal officers for various offences and gross misconduct… As I write, the NWC is eager to constitute a probe panel to unravel the allegations against them.”

The statement added that the suspended officials had earlier submitted resignation letters, which the party described as coming after their suspension.

The Ebonyi NDC leadership urged the National Working Committee to investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action in line with the party’s constitution.
