LAGOS — Dr. Taiwo Babatunde Ezekiel, a Nigerian dentist and founder of Smile On Dental Clinic, is promoting access to modern oral healthcare through a patient-centred approach that combines technological innovation with preventive care.

A native of Ilesa in Osun State, Dr. Ezekiel said his passion for dentistry is driven by a commitment to improving lives through quality oral healthcare and compassionate service.

A graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, he has spent the past three years practising general dentistry, focusing on preventive, restorative and general dental care. He is also a registered member of the Nigerian Dental Association and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

Speaking on his vision for the profession, Dr. Ezekiel said access to quality dental services should be expanded while maintaining internationally accepted standards.

“Dentistry is about more than treating teeth. It is about restoring confidence, improving health and helping people enjoy a better quality of life through proper oral care,” he said.

To advance that goal, he established Smile On Dental Clinic in Omole Phase 2, Lagos, on November 4, 2025. The facility was created to provide modern dental services using advanced technology alongside personalised patient care.

According to him, the clinic employs 3D diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive treatment techniques to improve diagnostic accuracy, reduce patient discomfort and achieve better long-term outcomes.

He stressed that technological innovation remains essential to delivering efficient and effective dental care.

“Modern technology enables us to diagnose problems earlier, plan treatments more accurately and provide patients with a more comfortable experience,” he said.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Ezekiel has intensified efforts to promote oral health awareness through community engagement and school outreach programmes designed to encourage preventive dental care.

The initiatives focus on educating children, families and the wider public about the importance of regular dental check-ups, proper oral hygiene and early intervention in preventing oral diseases.

He noted that greater public awareness is critical to reducing the prevalence of preventable dental conditions across the country.

“Our goal is not only to treat dental problems but to help people prevent them through education and regular oral healthcare,” he added.

Through Smile On Dental Clinic, Dr. Ezekiel continues to advocate higher standards in dental practice by integrating professional excellence, innovation and compassionate care.

His efforts have helped position the clinic among emerging providers of modern dental services in Lagos, with a strong emphasis on quality treatment, preventive healthcare and healthier communities.
