In a renewed drive to raise a financially aware generation, Kidpreneur Africa, in partnership with Access Bank, has concluded its National Global Money Week 2026 campaign, themed “Smart Money Talk,” reaching students across 100 schools in 10 states in Nigeria.
The campaign was designed to help students understand money in simple, practical and relatable ways. Through school-based sessions, learners were introduced to important financial literacy concepts such as saving, budgeting, needs and wants, responsible spending, planning and making smart financial decisions.
Unlike one-off classroom talks, this year’s campaign also focused on sustainability. As part of the programme, 100 teachers were trained to deliver financial literacy lessons to students, ensuring that the conversations around money continue in schools beyond Global Money Week.
The theme, “Smart Money Talk,” encouraged students to speak openly about money, ask questions and understand how their daily choices can shape their financial future. The sessions were designed to move financial literacy from abstract ideas to real-life lessons that children can understand and practise.
A teacher, Adebisi Eghosa of Evangel International School, Katsina, described the experience as valuable for the students.
“We sincerely appreciate the organizers of this financial literacy awareness program for bringing such valuable knowledge to our students thank you and may God reward your efforts” Eghosa said.
Mrs. Juliet Obi, a campaign organiser, highlighted the importance of teaching children financial literacy early: “Global Money Week reminds us that financial literacy isn’t a “later” skill – it’s a “now” skill. At Kidpreneur Africa, we’re teaching children to earn, save, budget, and invest through hands-on entrepreneurship. Because when kids understand money early, they grow into adults who create wealth, not just spend it..”
The initiative reflects Kidpreneur Africa’s commitment to helping young people build early entrepreneurial and financial skills. By partnering with Access Bank, the organisation is strengthening its mission to equip children with the knowledge they need to make informed money decisions and prepare for future economic opportunities.
Through Smart Money Talk, Kidpreneur Africa and Access Bank are not only teaching students about money, they are helping them build confidence, discipline and responsibility around how money is earned, managed and used.
