Abuja, Nigeria — Netzence Sustainability Limited (Netzence) has successfully onboarded driver-partners onto its clean mobility platform, KlimateRide, as it concludes a series of intensive onboarding and engagement activities across Abuja and Lagos and formally exits its beta testing phase.
The milestone was announced following a major driver onboarding event held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, marking a significant step toward the platform’s nationwide rollout and reinforcing growing confidence among drivers seeking a more transparent, fair, and sustainable ride-hailing ecosystem.
In another major development, KlimateRide has officially released its enhanced Beta Version, which is now available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, allowing riders and driver-partners to experience the platform ahead of its full commercial launch.
The achievement comes at a critical time for Nigeria’s ride-hailing industry, where concerns around high commission rates, declining earnings, unpredictable pricing structures, and safety challenges continue to dominate conversations among drivers.
Across major cities, many drivers have expressed frustration with commission structures that can range between 20 and 30 percent of earnings while requiring them to absorb rising fuel costs, vehicle maintenance expenses, and regulatory obligations. With transportation operating costs increasing significantly over the last few years, profitability for many drivers has become increasingly difficult to sustain.
At the same time, concerns around rider and driver safety have intensified, with incidents involving unverified users, inadequate accountability mechanisms, and weak emergency response systems creating uncertainty across the ecosystem.
It is within this context that KlimateRide’s market entry is beginning to attract significant attention.
The platform integrates intelligent route optimisation, transparent pricing systems, advanced safety features, and earnings-focused technology designed to improve driver productivity while delivering affordable transportation options to commuters.
Over the last several weeks, KlimateRide conducted a coordinated driver onboarding campaign across Abuja and Lagos, engaging prospective driver-partners through physical onboarding sessions, digital registration drives, training workshops, and platform demonstrations. The campaign culminated in verified driver-partners successfully joining the platform ahead of launch.
For many participants, KlimateRide’s value proposition has been clear: lower commission rates, improved trip allocation, greater earnings visibility, and enhanced safety mechanisms designed specifically to address the challenges currently facing drivers.
Speaking on the development, Auwal Maikano, General Manager at Netzence Sustainability Limited, said the response from drivers demonstrates a growing demand for platforms that place driver welfare and long-term sustainability at the centre of their business model.
“What we are seeing is a correction in the system. Drivers are no longer just looking for access to riders; they are looking for fairness, predictability, and a platform that recognises them as critical stakeholders within the mobility ecosystem.
“The response we have received during our onboarding activities in Abuja and Lagos has exceeded expectations. Many driver-partners have joined the platform because they see a model designed to help them earn sustainably while providing safer and more affordable transportation options for commuters.”
Beyond driver economics, safety remains a key differentiator for the platform.
KlimateRide incorporates multiple safety features, including identity verification, real-time trip monitoring, emergency SOS functionality, trip-sharing capabilities, anonymised communication, and a dedicated support framework aimed at protecting both riders and driver-partners.
The enhanced Beta Version released this month also introduces improvements to platform stability, trip management functionality, user experience, and operational performance based on feedback gathered during testing.
According to the company, data collected throughout the beta phase has provided valuable insights into travel patterns, demand distribution, and driver behaviour, enabling the platform to refine its route intelligence systems and optimise trip allocation.
Industry observers note that sustainable driver economics will increasingly determine the success of ride-hailing platforms in Nigeria. Platforms that fail to balance affordability for commuters with profitability for drivers may continue to face retention challenges and service quality issues.
KlimateRide believes its approach, combining lower commission structures, operational efficiency, safety-first design, and technology-driven optimisation—positions it to become a credible alternative within the market.
Maikano emphasised that the onboarding of driver-partners represents only the beginning of a broader national growth strategy.
“The beta phase has given us invaluable insights into system performance, driver engagement, and market demand. As we move toward full deployment, our focus remains on building a platform that consistently delivers value for drivers, riders, businesses, and cities.
“This is not about scaling quickly at the expense of quality. It is about building a trusted mobility ecosystem that works for everyone.”
With the successful completion of its beta programme, the release of its improved mobile applications, and the onboarding driver-partners, KlimateRide is now entering the final phase of preparations for commercial operations.
KlimateRide has fixed its official launch for July 21, 2026, when the company will formally unveil its clean mobility platform and begin full-scale operations across its initial rollout markets.
