The Sokoto State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Dadi Adare (Dallatun Gobir), has said the administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu has recorded significant progress in infrastructure, social welfare, rural development and security across the state in its first three years.

Adare made the remarks shortly after the flag-off of the construction of 100 housing units for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Rabah Local Government Area.

He described the project as a reflection of government’s commitment to restoring dignity and providing lasting support for vulnerable communities affected by insecurity.

According to him, the initiative underscores the administration’s people-centred approach to governance and its focus on delivering development across all 23 local government areas of the state.

The commissioner said the government has implemented projects in road construction, healthcare, education, water supply, and rural electrification, all aimed at improving living standards across Sokoto State.

He noted that local government councils have also benefited from increased support and collaboration under the administration’s development agenda, which he said is aimed at strengthening grassroots governance.

Adare further highlighted ongoing investments in education, including school construction and rehabilitation, provision of learning materials, and recruitment of personnel to strengthen the sector.

He also commended improvements in the health sector, citing upgraded facilities and expanded access to medical services across the state.

On security, the commissioner said the government has continued to support security agencies with logistics and operational backing, contributing to improved safety in several communities and gradual return of displaced persons.

He added that farmers have also benefited from agricultural support programmes, including the distribution of inputs and equipment to boost productivity and food security.

Adare urged residents to continue supporting government policies, expressing confidence that ongoing projects would further enhance development and inclusivity across Sokoto State.
