The Executive Chairman of Rabah Local Government Area, Hon. Yusuf Muhammad Rabah, has commended the Sokoto State Government under Governor Ahmed Aliyu for initiating key infrastructure and social welfare projects aimed at boosting rural development.
He gave the commendation on Thursday during the groundbreaking ceremonies for the Maikujera–Durbawa Road project and a 100-unit housing scheme for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Rabah LGA.
The projects, which form part of activities marking Governor Aliyu’s third year in office, are expected to improve transportation, strengthen rural connectivity, and support economic activities in farming and trade communities.
Hon. Rabah said the Maikujera–Durbawa Road would ease movement of agricultural produce and enhance commercial exchange between rural settlements and urban centres.
He also described the IDP housing project as a major intervention aimed at providing safe and decent accommodation for displaced families, while restoring dignity and stability to vulnerable residents.
According to him, the initiatives demonstrate the state government’s commitment to equitable development and improving living standards across rural communities.
The chairman noted that the projects align with efforts to expand economic opportunities, improve infrastructure, and support long-term growth in the state.
He also commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, particularly Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, for what he described as sustained support for stability and development in the state.
Hon. Rabah called on residents to support government programmes and take ownership of the projects to ensure their protection and sustainability.
He expressed optimism that the timely completion of the road and housing scheme would further enhance socio-economic development and consolidate ongoing efforts to improve welfare in Sokoto State.
