LAGOS — Premium Scotch whisky brand Chivas Regal hosted a UEFA Champions League final watch party in Lagos, bringing together football fans, celebrities and entertainment personalities to celebrate European football and Arsenal’s Premier League-winning season.

The event, held at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, on May 30, 2026, attracted invited guests who gathered to watch the Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The final ended 1-1 after regulation and extra time, with PSG emerging champions after a 4-3 victory in the penalty shootout. Despite Arsenal’s defeat, the mood at the Lagos gathering remained celebratory as attendees reflected on the club’s successful domestic campaign.

Arsenal entered the final after securing the 2025/26 English Premier League title, ending a 22-year wait for the championship and marking one of the club’s most memorable seasons in recent history.

Speaking on the event, representatives of Chivas Regal said the watch party was designed to celebrate football, community and shared experiences among fans.

The event formed part of Chivas Regal’s “I Rise, We Rise” partnership with Arsenal, aimed at connecting with football supporters through experiences that promote unity and achievement.

Guests participated in interactive activities throughout the evening, including a Predict and Win competition that ran during the match. Attendees who purchased selected Chivas Regal products also received Arsenal-themed merchandise as part of a promotional campaign.

Following the final whistle, the event transitioned into a post-match celebration featuring live entertainment.

Music group Loud Choir opened the entertainment segment with a live performance, while rapper MI Abaga later took to the stage. Popular media personality DO2DTUN hosted the after-party activities.

The event was attended by several personalities from Nigeria’s entertainment and media industries, including Banky W, Timi and Busola Dakolo, Yaw, Efa Iwara, Tega of Mavin Records, and music journalist Joey Akan.

Organisers said the event underscored the growing popularity of European football in Nigeria and highlighted the role of sports in bringing people together.

While PSG celebrated Champions League success in Europe, Arsenal supporters at the Lagos gathering marked what many described as a memorable season for the North London club following its long-awaited return to the summit of English football.
