The Ohwo Ri Si of Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom and Life Patron of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU Worldwide, Capt. Anthony Onoharigho, has reaffirmed his commitment to the unity, peace and development of the Urhobo nation.
He made the pledge while hosting the President-General of UPU Worldwide, Chief Barr. Ese Gam, and members of the union’s national executive at his residence in Oria, Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The visit provided an opportunity for discussions on issues affecting the progress of the Urhobo people and the need for greater cohesion among stakeholders.
Speaking during the reception, Onoharigho expressed appreciation to the UPU leadership for the visit and for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment as Life Patron of the organisation.
He described the recognition as a call to greater responsibility and service to the Urhobo nation.
According to him, the future of the Urhobo people depends on sustained unity and collective commitment to development, even as he pledged to continue supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace, preserving cultural heritage and advancing the socio-economic interests of Urhobo communities across the country and in the diaspora.
In his remarks, Gam commended Onoharigho for his unwavering support for the organisation and his longstanding contributions to the development of the Urhobo ethnic nationality.
He described him as a dedicated leader whose service and commitment have continued to inspire confidence among Urhobo sons and daughters.
Gam also expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded the delegation and called on all Urhobo stakeholders to remain united in pursuit of common goals.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings, good health and greater accomplishments for Onoharigho, while urging the people to work together to strengthen the unity and prosperity of the Urhobo nation.
