‎‎Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho of Kogi East Senatorial District has flagged off the second phase of solar-powered borehole projects across several communities in the district to improve access to clean and potable water.

‎‎The flag-off ceremony took place in Bassa Local Government Area yesterday were carried out in Mozum, Gboloko, and Gbobe communities. The project also extends to Ajomonu community in Dekina Local Government Area.

‎‎Speaking at the event, Alhaji Akpa Anana, who represented the senator, said the second phase was aimed at expanding access to safe drinking water and improving living conditions across Kogi East.

‎‎Represented by his aide, Akpa Anana, Echocho listed additional beneficiary communities such as Ajita-Enjema, the Yoruba community in Ankpa, Ankpa Local Government Secretariat, Young Muslim Secondary School Ankpa, Ugbamaka in Olamaboro Local Government Area, and Ibochi in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, among others.

‎‎He noted that over 63 solar-powered boreholes were completed and delivered under the first phase of the project, all of which are currently operational and serving thousands of residents across the district.

‎‎”Access to clean water remains a basic necessity, and we are committed to delivering projects that directly address the needs of constituents.”

‎‎Traditional rulers, community leaders, women’s groups, and youth representatives from the benefiting communities commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful.

‎‎They said the solar-powered boreholes would help reduce water scarcity, improve public health, and raise living standards across the affected communities.

‎‎The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Senator Echocho and called for continued people-oriented projects to further enhance development in Kogi East.
