Nigerian-born product executive and technology transformation leader, Matthew Olugbemi, is making significant strides in the global technology ecosystem, leveraging innovation, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation initiatives to bridge opportunities between Africa and the United States.

Olugbemi, who currently serves as Director of Product and Chief Operating Officer at iDbase Software South Africa, has emerged as a key figure in driving product development, operational excellence, AI readiness, and cross-border technology partnerships across multiple industries.

In his role at iDbase, Olugbemi oversees strategic initiatives spanning enterprise data management, software development, marketplace platforms, mobility technology, business intelligence, and international collaborations. A major aspect of his work involves supporting the company’s partnership strategy with Dataiku, a United States-based enterprise AI platform that enables organisations to move from AI experimentation to fully governed operations.

Speaking on the importance of responsible AI adoption, Olugbemi said, “Technology should not only solve problems but also create opportunities. Our focus is on helping organisations transform data into measurable value while ensuring responsible and sustainable AI implementation.”

His professional journey has seen him contribute to several high-profile digital transformation projects. He played a role in the development of Avo by Nedbank, a leading digital marketplace platform, and later strengthened product development and operations at Gumtree South Africa. He also helped pioneer the development of a humanitarian social media platform by Solution Community, a USA-based NGO, as the lead product owner, where he led teams from over 50 countries on the international initiative, and worked with PwC as a Technical Product Owner Consultant on a digital banking transformation project, where he helped align banking requirements with product strategy and delivery outcomes.

Among the projects under his leadership influence is PartyRide, a group transportation technology platform set to launch in Texas, United States. The platform is designed to improve shared mobility experiences for events, campuses, nightlife activities, churches, and community groups through coordinated ride-sharing, payment splitting, security, and enhanced driver visibility.

Olugbemi is also spearheading the development of PointMe, a digital marketplace aimed at empowering SMEs, SMMEs, care, wellness, beauty, artisans, technicians, and service providers in South Africa. The platform seeks to improve business visibility, customer access, trust, bookings, and payment solutions by connecting the customer needs to the right services, with expansion plans across Africa and international markets.

Another innovation associated with his portfolio is PipelinePulse, a sales and customer intelligence solution that helps businesses monitor revenue performance, identify opportunities and risks, and optimise commercial decision-making.

A Certified AI Transformation Leader (CAITL) accredited by the United States Artificial Intelligence Institute, Olugbemi holds additional certifications in agile methodologies, project management, Scrum, product ownership, AI security and governance, information security management, Microsoft Azure AI, IT service management, and digital delivery. His academic background also includes an MBA with focus on digital transformation.

Beyond corporate leadership, Olugbemi has distinguished himself as an author and educator, as well as a songwriter, singer, recording artist, and worship leader. His published works, including The Product Manager’s Playbook, The Strategic Product Leader, and Starting Over, are available on Amazon and Kindle platforms; his music is available on all digital platforms globally; and his writings and thought leadership are published across leading academic and professional platforms. He also developed an Alison diploma course titled Diploma in Product Management: Agile, Analytics, and AI, which has attracted nearly 2,000 learners globally.

His contributions to talent development have earned him international recognition, including being named the 2026 World’s Most Influential Mentor in Product Management by ADPList in the ADPList100. Through mentorship, he supports professionals across Nigeria, South Africa, Spain, France, Uganda, Mozambique, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

Industry observers say Olugbemi’s growing influence reflects the increasing role of Nigerians in shaping global technology innovation while creating pathways for talent development and economic opportunities across continents.

By combining product leadership, technology partnerships, education, mentorship, and innovation, Matthew Olugbemi continues to project Nigerian excellence on the global stage while advancing digital transformation initiatives that impact businesses and communities worldwide.
