.woos BRICS member countries with mouthwatering incentives

ABUJA- THE Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, yesterday, declared that Nigeria remains Africa’s agribusiness hub while he wooed BRICS member countries with mouthwatering incentives in the agricultural sector.
He stated this in his presentation while speaking at the ongoing BRICS Agriculture Ministers Conference in Indore, India, where he said the Federal Government of Nigeria is already having a strong commitment with some BRICS member countries, including Brazil and India in food production and other related business sectors by collaboration.
According to the Minister, Nigeria is seeking stronger partnerships with BRICS member nations to boost agricultural productivity and trade, in line with the bloc’s bilateral guidelines.
He added that priority is being given to the establishment of Special Agro-processing Zones in Nigeria, which are designed to attract investment from across Africa and beyond.
He urged BRICS nations to seize this opportunity and partner with the Nigerian government.
He said: “With vast arable land and a gateway market to the whole continent, we offer members and partners a place to invest, to trade, and to grow together.”
“Everything we have spoken about today begins and ends with the farmer the productive smallholder farmer, the empowered woman, and the confident young farmer, serve them well and we will secure the future of food.”
