— Drums support for Tinubu’s re-election

The PBAT Mandate Elders Forum in Ondo State says President Bola Tinubu’s policies are aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and development.

In a Democracy Day statement in Akure, the group’s facilitator Hon. Demola Ijabiyi and Secretary Hon. Ebenezer Alabi commended the President’s steadfast leadership and commitment to policy implementation. They also honored those who fought for democratic governance.

The forum said Tinubu’s Democracy Day address showed deep appreciation for Nigeria’s democratic heritage and citizens’ duty to protect democratic institutions.

“We pay tribute to June 12 heroes and heroines including Chief M.K.O. Abiola, Kudirat Abiola, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Chief Bola Ige, Chief Abraham Adesanya, General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and others whose sacrifices secured today’s freedoms,” the group stated.

It acknowledged federal efforts on security through increased recruitment into police and armed forces, higher defence funding, and intensified action against criminal and insurgent activities.

On the economy, the forum noted ongoing reforms to strengthen public finances, attract investment, expand local production, and diversify the economy. It added that infrastructure, agriculture, and energy improvements are laying groundwork for long-term prosperity.

“As beneficiaries of June 12 and the Renewed Hope Agenda, Ondo people have every reason to support this administration’s vision,” the forum said, expressing confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and endorsing his 2027 re-election bid to consolidate reforms.

The group urged youths to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, civic duty, and democratic engagement. It also called on INEC, security agencies, and stakeholders to ensure credible, peaceful, and transparent elections.

The forum encouraged all citizens to remain united, hopeful, and committed to national progress “to build a more secure, prosperous, and democratic Nigeria for future generations.”
