Convener South South Reawakening Group, SSRG, Joseph Ambakederimo has hailed the emergence of the lawmaker representing Sagbama – Ekeremor federal Constituency, Bayelsa state, Hon Agbedi Frederick, as the Minority leader in the House of Representatives.
Ambakederimo who is the leader South south lauded the Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon Tajudeen Abbas and other members for allowing fairness and justice to guide the choice of who became the Minority leader.
His words : ” We of the South South Reawakening Group, SSRG, commend the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and the leadership of the House for demonstrating wisdom, fairness, and respect for democratic principles in the emergence of Hon Frederick Agbedi representing Sagbama/ Ekeremor federal constituency, Bayelsa state as the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives who took over from Hon Kingsley Chinda.
“This development reflects adherence to due process, respect for House rules and a willingness to listen to wise counsel in the overall interest of unity, stability, and effective legislative engagement. We appreciate the leadership of the House for doing the right thing at a critical time and for strengthening confidence in the democratic process.
“We believe the emergence of Agbedi will further promote purposeful opposition leadership, constructive debate, and quality representation for the benefit of Nigerians. We urge all stakeholders to close ranks and support the new Minority Leader in the discharge of his responsibilities for the progress of the National Assembly and the nation at large.
“We had in several publications enjoined the House to act right by ensuring that Hon Agbedi emerged the new minority leader. And true to its commitment to fairness , equity and justice the House saw wisdom in our advocacy and acted right.
“We are convinced in the capacity of the lawmaker to work alongside other leaders to lead the House to greater heights. “
