The Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Jide Ipinsagba, has called for intensified security surveillance across the district and Ondo State, urging stakeholders to take proactive steps to safeguard lives and property.

Ipinsagba made the call amid growing concerns over security challenges nationwide, stressing that lasting peace and safety require the collective efforts of government, security agencies, local security outfits, traditional institutions, community leaders and residents.

He emphasised the need for heightened vigilance and stronger intelligence gathering to prevent crime and ensure communities remain safe for economic and social activities.

According to him, a peaceful environment is essential for attracting investment, boosting agricultural productivity and improving citizens’ overall well-being.

“Security should not be viewed as the sole responsibility of law enforcement agencies, but as a shared obligation that demands active participation from all members of society,” Ipinsagba said.

The senator urged residents to promptly report suspicious movements to security authorities and support community policing initiatives aimed at strengthening grassroots security.

He also appealed to security agencies to deepen collaboration with local vigilante groups and community structures to improve response times and address emerging threats.

Ipinsagba further called on all tiers of government to provide adequate resources, logistics and welfare support to enable security personnel to discharge their duties effectively.

He expressed confidence that improved stakeholder cooperation and sustained commitment to security would help maintain peace across Ondo North and the state at large.

The senator reaffirmed his commitment to policies and initiatives that promote peace, security and sustainable development in the district.
