The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State for the 2027 elections, Hon. Isa Ashiru, has expressed appreciation to party members for their support during the party’s governorship primaries, while urging unity ahead of the general elections.

Ashiru also commended the party leadership for what he described as a transparent and democratic process conducted across the 255 electoral wards in the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ADC flag bearer said the affirmation of his candidacy as winner of the primaries was important to clarify the outcome and strengthen confidence in the process.

He said the peaceful conduct of the exercise reflected the party’s commitment to democratic values and internal cohesion.

“The conduct of our primaries has shown that the ADC is committed to democracy and due process. It reflects our determination to build a better Kaduna State founded on justice, fairness and inclusiveness,” he said.

Ashiru called on other aspirants who participated in the contest to embrace sportsmanship and work together in the interest of the state.

“It is natural in any contest such as this that some will win while others will lose. However, that should not divide us. We must remain united as one family with a common goal of addressing Kaduna’s economic and security challenges,” he said.

He assured party members and supporters that his administration would be inclusive, stressing that unity within the party would strengthen its chances in the 2027 elections.

Ashiru said the ADC’s priority would be to tackle poverty, hunger and insecurity while restoring public confidence in governance.

He urged residents of Kaduna State to support the party’s vision for a more secure and prosperous state, adding that collective effort was necessary to achieve meaningful development.
