The Chairperson, Assa North Host Communities Trust Board of Trustees (BOT), Mrs Eugenia Onyiriuka, has clarified that the on-going electricity project in the four oil host communities of Assa, Awarra, Obile and Ochia in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, was awarded by Renaissance Africa Energy Company through the trust.
Speaking to journalists in the area on Thursday, Onyiriuka, noted that the clarification became necessary due to misconception that the project was being executed by another company operating in the area.
The BOT Chairperson explained that the contract awarded on December 17, 2025, was categorised into two phases: Town Distribution Network (TDN) Installation and Town Distribution Network (TDN) Procurement.
Onyiriuka stated that a total of eight contractors are handling the projects in the four oil host communities, among which is Gingord Integrated Nigeria Limited.
According to her, the other contractors for TDN Installation are: Obile – Chika Row Global Ltd; Ochia – Karisto Industrial System Ltd; Awarra – Cxiditech Works & Services, while those for TDN Procurement are: Assa- Vicjul Bliss Resources Ltd; Obile – John Assanco Global Company; Ochia – Rojanic Royal Energy and Awarra-Eze Appiti & Sons Company.
She maintained that the projects were approved by the HCDT for the communities.
