In a show of economic empowerment, the CEO of Amazon Apartments, Otunba Jerry Oluranti has donated food items to over 350 widows across the Ilaro-Yewa zone of Ogun State. He also donated ₦1million to the construction of the proposed secretariat and headquarters for the Concerned Widows Association in the zone.

Oluranti, also the Chief Executive Officer of Complete Care Support Services Inc., Maryland, United States, where he oversees medicaid and mental health support programmes and equally leads Global Outreach Impact Incorporated, a community-focused non-profit organisation, said, “The economic empowerment was organised to alleviate economic hardships and provide critical support to vulnerable women within the community. The ₦1million donation is aimed at providing the association with a permanent infrastructure to sustain its advocacy and welfare programmes.

The impactful event was facilitated by the Iya Eto of Yewaland, Chief (Mrs.) Akintade, whose community network ensured the seamless execution of the programme.

Also present to oversee the distribution was the Widows Coordinator, Pastor Amos Leo, who ensured that the food items and support reached the intended beneficiaries effectively.

Speaking on the intervention, Chief Mrs. Akintade, Pastor Mrs. Joda, and other stakeholders praised Otunba’s enduring commitment to uplifting the less-privileged, noting that the gesture will go a long way in restoring hope and dignity to many households in Yewaland.
