ABUJA — The National PDP Consensus for the Survival of Democracy in Nigeria, has called on the Inspector-General of Police to investigate former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, over comments it claimed he made about the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State.

The group said the matter warranted the attention of security agencies and urged authorities to pursue every lead that could assist ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping and improve security in the state.

The call was made at a briefing in Abuja by the group’s convener, Ochachangolo Armstrong Adah, who urged law enforcement authorities to question the former governor over the alleged remarks.

“The Inspector General of Police must act immediately to arrest and interrogate Fayose,” Adah said.

Beyond its call for Fayose’s investigation, the organisation urged security agencies to thoroughly investigate all available leads linked to the abductions and step up efforts to protect residents in Oyo State and neighbouring communities.

The group also called for stronger collaboration among security agencies and other stakeholders to address the security challenges facing affected communities.

It expressed sympathy with families affected by the kidnappings and commended Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and the Federal Government for efforts aimed at securing the release of the abducted children.

“We sympathise with the good people of Oyo State, especially Governor Seyi Makinde, who has been working tirelessly with the Federal Government to ensure the safe return of the abducted children,” the group said.
