The Head, Association of Urhobo Mayoral Family Crown, AUMFC and ex-militant leader, Dr. Eshanekpe Agimor Israel, has congratulated the former Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Delta State, South-South Nigeria, Dr. Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor, SAN, on his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP flag bearer for the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state, describing him as the best who have emerged from the barrage of party primaries in the state.

He added that, with Mrakpor in the race for the soul of the oil rich state, the stage is set genuine democratisation as he called on the electorates to queue behind a man he said defines the finesse of character.

The excited Mayor stated in this in a heartfelt congratulatory message on Tuesday, adding that the reputable legal icon has all it takes to win the governorship election in a level plain ground, he noted can only be made possible by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.

According to the Dr. Mrakpor has the wherewithal to leader the oil-rich state to a greater heights in what he described as a superlative service to delivery to the people. He added that, the legal mogul has the track record and trajectory of excellence capable of giving him victory across the polling units in the State.

He stated further that the emergence of Dr. Mrakpor has opened up the forthcoming general elections for too major Urhobo sons including the incumbent Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to test their popularity in the electoral field as he strongly advised the state electorates to choose wisely between the two major contenders.

He described Dr. Mrakpor as a humble and well-exposed Urhobo son who have practical experience in governance saying Urhobo nation is lucky to have her two illustrious sons in the race noting that Mrakpor stands the chance to weather the storm and coast home victory.

Dr. Mrakpor on Sunday emerged the PDP consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 Delta State governorship election during the party primaries held in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The exercise witnessed the presence of top PDP national and regional leaders including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed, National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu, South-South PDP Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Kingsley Otuaro, members of the PDP Board of Trustees, INEC officials and members of the party electoral committee.

The primaries also attracted PDP House of Assembly candidates from the 25 local government areas of the state, House of Representatives candidates, Senatorial candidates, party stakeholders and faithful who stormed the venue in solidarity for the former Commissioner of Justice.

Pointedly, Akpodoro called on the people of the state particularly the electorates to vote wisely and shun monetary inducement in 2027 governorship election saying the people must be developed beyond rhetorics especially the youth population which he noted have been neglected and reduced to mere political errand boys.

“Mrakpor has sufficient professional, political exposure and moral probity to lead the state out of despondency and unemployment without political rascality and arrogance that characterizes politics in our state.

“Mrakpor is a man with good conscience and has absolute respect for traditional institution, religious bodies, and the people as against pride and arrogance.

“I advise the people of Delta State to shun political party divides and give more considerations to personalities and capacity. Building roads for a youth population that no cars to ride on those roads is no development. To us, the Urhobos, it is a win-win for us because both the APC and PDP candidates are our sons. Wherever the Oborevwori’s administration comes short, Dr. Mrakpor will fill it up because he is an administrator and a respecter of humanity.

“The PDP candidate will develop the people and material resources. Human capital empowerment, attack on unemployment induced poverty and other vices shall be the fulcrum of Mrakpor’s administration when the people give him overwhelming votes at the polls in 2027.

‘He is a man we can trust with power and four years is enough for him to uplift the state and her people. I congratulate the legal mogul on this lofty feat. The process of his door-to-door campaign is a duty for all Deltans particularly women and youths should take seriously,” Akpodoro stated.
