An executive coach and mentor, Mr Idorenyen Enang, has unveiled the Passing-the-Torch, PTT, initiative as part of efforts aimed at promoting mentorship, leadership continuity and nation building across generations.

The initiative, developed by Corporate Shepherds Limited, is expected to take centre stage during activities marking Enang’s 60th birthday celebration in Lagos, where seasoned executives, emerging professionals, protégés, mentees, thought leaders, family members and friends are expected to gather.

Enang, who has over three decades of experience spanning global organisations including Diageo, The Coca-Cola Company, Cadbury Plc, Samsung and L’Oréal, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Shepherds Limited.

He also serves as Executive in Residence at Lagos Business School (Pan- Atlantic University).
According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to bridge generational gaps by connecting experienced leaders with younger professionals and change-makers, while strengthening mentorship culture and transferring institutional knowledge across sectors.

Speaking ahead of the event, Enang described Passing-the-Torch as a responsibility rather than a mere event. Stressing that the event, will go beyond a traditional birthday celebration, featuring leadership conversations, reflections and storytelling sessions focused on institutional wisdom and leadership transfer.

Enang said: “Passing the Torch is not an event; it is a responsibility. It is a deliberate call to action for intergenerational collaboration and sustainable leadership. If we do not intentionally transfer knowledge and values, we risk breaking the chain of continuity in leadership and nation-building.

“I desire that every participant leaves with a renewed sense of duty, to mentor someone, to be mentored, and to contribute to building stronger institutions for the future.”

Participants are also expected to witness the presentation of a commemorative book titled 60 Navigational Truths, which captures key lessons from Enang’s leadership journey and philosophy.
