Stakeholders in Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area on Wednesday endorsed the member representing Apapa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Adedayo Samuel, and Lagos State House of Assembly member, Musbau Lawal, for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held at the council secretariat, with party leaders, community groups and residents from across the LCDA in attendance.

Speaking at the meeting, the Executive Chairman of Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area, Jimoh Olawale Saliu, said the decision followed wide consultations across the wards within the council area.

According to him, the endorsement reflected stakeholders’ confidence in the two lawmakers based on their representation and service delivery.
“We’re here today to unveil and announce to you our representatives for the House of Representatives and House of Assembly that have been endorsed to return for a second term in office,” Saliu said.

He urged members of the All Progressives Congress and other stakeholders to remain united and mobilise support for all party candidates during the forthcoming primaries and the 2027 general elections.
Saliu also called for support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said was aimed at transforming the country.
“We should support them during the forthcoming primaries of our party and the general election to ensure they return for the second term and continue the good representation,” he added.

In his remarks, Adedayo appealed to aggrieved party members and supporters to forgive past shortcomings and unite behind his candidacy as well as that of Musbau.
The federal lawmaker, while quoting from the Lord’s Prayer in the Bible, stressed the need for forgiveness, reconciliation and unity within the party ahead of the elections.

Also speaking, Musbau called for peaceful conduct during the APC primaries and appealed for sustained support from party faithful and residents of the constituency.
The meeting was attended by members of the APC Elders Council led by Alhaji Bakare Idowu, APC ward chairmen, supervisory councillors, political appointees and members of the Community Development Committee led by Azeez Okeola.

Representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria coordinated by Pastor Agboola Kehinde, market men and women, artisans, people living with disabilities, members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Arewa groups, South-South and South-East representatives, as well as the League of Imams, were also present at the meeting.
