A Lagos State House of Assembly aspirant for Somolu Constituency 01, Hon. Fawole Ayowole Ezekiel, has officially unveiled his “Manifesto of Hope, Service and True Representation,” promising people-oriented leadership, youth empowerment, education support, and grassroots development if elected.
Speaking during his declaration event, Fawole described his aspiration as a movement driven by hope, purposeful leadership, and the desire to reposition Somolu for greater development and inclusive governance.
The aspirant, while addressing party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women groups, artisans, market men and women, and supporters, stated that his ambition was not motivated by personal gain or political relevance but by a genuine desire to serve and improve the welfare of residents across Somolu Constituency 01.
According to him, Somolu deserves quality representation anchored on accessibility, accountability, compassion, and visible impact at the grassroots level.
Fawole also used the opportunity to appreciate President Bola Tinubu for promoting internal democracy within the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that the President’s leadership style and Renewed Hope Agenda continue to inspire many young Nigerians to actively participate in governance.
“We, the youths of Somolu, remain committed to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda and mobilizing grassroots support for the continued success of our great party,” he said.
Sharing his personal story, the aspirant recounted his humble upbringing and the struggles he faced after losing his father at a young age. He explained that his difficult experiences shaped his understanding of the challenges confronting ordinary residents within the constituency.
“I know what it means to struggle. I know what it feels like to lack basic necessities and face uncertainty about tomorrow. Those experiences are the reasons I understand the pains and aspirations of the people,” he stated.
Fawole outlined several development-focused initiatives he intends to champion if elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly.
On education and child welfare, he proposed a School Breakfast Initiative aimed at supporting school children with daily breakfast to improve concentration, attendance, and academic performance. He also pledged to advocate for scholarships, educational grants, mentorship programmes, and improved learning infrastructure in public schools.
Speaking on youth empowerment and digital economy development, the aspirant disclosed plans to establish ICT and digital training centres where young people can acquire skills in Artificial Intelligence, software development, data analytics, digital marketing, virtual assistance, and remote work opportunities.
According to him, the initiative is designed to position youths in Somolu for global competitiveness and financial independence within the rapidly evolving digital economy.
Fawole further promised reforms in vocational and trade development by reducing unnecessarily lengthy apprenticeship systems, introducing modern training methods, and supporting trainees with startup tools and equipment after the completion of their programmes.
The aspirant also proposed healthcare interventions for elderly residents through a medical voucher scheme to enable senior citizens access affordable healthcare services. He added that he would support community health outreach programmes, maternal healthcare awareness, and medical screening exercises.
On women empowerment, Fawole promised financial support initiatives, business grants, skill acquisition programmes, and welfare support for widows and vulnerable women within the constituency.
Recognizing Somolu’s reputation as a major printing and publishing hub, he emphasized plans to promote the constituency as West Africa’s leading printing and media hub through strategic partnerships, investment opportunities, and increased visibility for local businesses.
Fawole assured residents that his representation at the Lagos State House of Assembly would focus on effective legislation, grassroots engagement, and attracting meaningful development projects to the constituency.
“My responsibility will not simply be to occupy a seat. It will be to defend the interests of Somolu, remain accessible to the people, and ensure governance becomes visible and impactful,” he said.
Calling on residents and party stakeholders to support his aspiration, Fawole described himself as “a symbol of hope, a product of resilience, and a servant of the people,” while expressing confidence that Somolu can achieve greater progress through collective effort and responsible leadership.
