Ekiti APC Youth League has called the adoption of a particular aspirant in the Ekiti South senatorial race false.

“As a group, we want to state categorically that no single aspirant has been adopted as a consensus candidate,” it said in a statement signed by its leader, Femi Daramola.

“Umpteenth occasions, Mr. President and the party have made this known that wherever consensus fails, interested aspirants should go for primaries. “And in the case of Ekiti South, no consensus agreement has been made.

“The three aspirants in this race – Senator Biodun Olujimi, Hon. Faparusi, Senator Adaramodu – were at no time or anywhere agreed to step down for one another.

“The trio have all obtained forms. If they do not mean business, they wouldn’t have gone ahead to obtain the nomination and expression of interest forms.

“With the present economic situation in the country, no reasonable individual would gamble with N20m.
“Having gone ahead to do this should be an enough signal that there can never be a compromise of any consensus whatsoever.

“We therefore advise the general public to flagrantly disregard the fake news that was published in some national dailies, and we advise the concerned media outlets to diligently verify the authenticity of what they publish so as not to mislead the innocent populace who rely on them for political updates.

“To further puncture their desperation, the name, Akinwale Olusola, who parades himself as the district chairman, never existed.

“The authentic senatorial chairman is Barr. Akinbobola Alabilogbo, and any political arrangement that never enjoyed his knowledge should be discountenanced and disregarded totally.

“It’s a blatant lie and the figment of their desperate imagination.

“As a representative who had been elected in the last three years, you should have more than enough performance to convince your constituents for re-election, as your scorecards should be your selling point, nothing else.

“We therefore call on the party, both at the state and national levels, to caution against this political desperation as this will further polarize the party and pitch the members against one another.
“Conclusively, we call on Governor Biodun Oyebanji and all other critical stakeholders in the party to caution against needless controversy in the party.

“The governor and other stakeholders should know that we’re in a sensitive political period that if not well managed, the backlash may be transferred to the June 20 governorship election and the subsequent ones.

“As a matter of urgency, we call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada, to take more than passing interest in Ekiti APC”.
