Nigerian music producer and digital creator, Ogunremi David Tope, professionally known as ePianoh, has said that many struggling producers in the music industry are held back by their unwillingness to evolve with changing tools, trends, and technology.
Speaking during a recent visit to music executive Don Jazzy’s base in Lagos, the producer reflected on his personal journey, describing it as one built on consistency, adaptability, and strategic growth in a highly competitive industry.
According to him, success in today’s music space is no longer dependent on talent alone but on the ability to evolve and embrace new systems.
“Most producers suffering only refused to evolve,” he said.
ePianoh explained that his rise was not an easy one, noting that he had to navigate challenges around survival, visibility and industry competition before gaining recognition.
“My journey is not only one that was easy but then the power of consistency, learning new tools and partnering with technology put me ahead in a saturated industry. One has to just be different,” ePianoh added.
The producer, who has built a strong digital footprint with billions of online views across platforms, noted that leveraging technology and digital platforms played a key role in his growth as a modern-day music creator.
He further emphasized that many upcoming producers remain stuck because they fail to adapt to the changing nature of music production, distribution and audience engagement.
ePianoh, known for his versatility across genres and his digital content strategy, has worked with both Nigerian and international artists, including contributions to globally recognized projects.
His statement adds to ongoing conversations within the Nigerian music industry about innovation, digital disruption and the increasing role of content-driven success in shaping modern music careers.
