All is set for the burial of the mother of Hon. Dozie Ogenyi, an aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as family, friends and associates prepare to gather in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State on Friday, May 1, 2026.

The deceased, Ezinne Comfort Ebam Ogenyi, passed away at the age of 93.

In a statement issued in Enugu, Ogenyi, a former Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Poverty Reduction, described his late mother as a central figure in the family who instilled in her children the values of hard work, honesty and empathy.

According to him, funeral rites will commence with a church service at the Agape College Arena, officiated by the Eha-Amufu Anglican Diocese, after which she will be laid to rest at Mgbuji, Eha-Amufu.

He invited friends, political associates and well-wishers across the state to attend the burial, noting that the family would be honoured by their presence.

Ogenyi added that condolence visits will continue on Saturday, May 2, while an outing service will be held on Sunday, May 3, at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Mgbuji, Eha-Amufu.
