Ilorin — The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed concern over reports regarding moves to revisit the Offa robbery case, warning against actions it says could introduce political controversy into the matter.

Addressing journalists on Friday at the party’s state secretariat in Ilorin, the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, said the party believes the issue should be handled with caution, given its sensitivity and the impact on affected communities.

Adewara noted that the Offa robbery incident remains a painful chapter for residents, particularly victims and their families, and urged that any engagement with the case should reflect this reality.

“It is important that matters of this nature are treated with the seriousness and sensitivity they deserve,” he said.

He also called for transparency in the handling of legal processes related to the case and encouraged relevant authorities to ensure that due process is followed.

The PDP spokesman referenced previous investigations and legal proceedings, noting that the case had gone through judicial processes, including prosecutions and appeals.

He further urged security agencies to remain vigilant in order to maintain peace and stability across the state.

Adewara appealed to residents to remain calm and law-abiding, stressing the need to avoid actions that could heighten tensions.
