The North-West zonal chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has held its maiden meeting following its recent zonal congress, outlining plans to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, held Thursday at the APC North-West Zonal Secretariat in Kaduna, was chaired by the National Vice Chairman (North-West), Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, the zonal leadership said discussions focused on strategies to sustain the region’s strong electoral participation since 1999.

The statement announcing the outcome of the meeting was signed by Malam Musa Mailafiya Mada, APC Zonal Publicity Secretary (North-West).

According to the statement, the zone resolved to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders across the seven North-West states to enhance the party’s performance at all levels, including the presidency, governorship, and legislative seats.

The party also adopted what it described as a “campaign of facts” approach to highlight the policies and programmes of the current administration, particularly the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The zonal leadership said the campaign would focus on developments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security, as well as programmes being implemented through the North West Development Commission.

The meeting further emphasised the importance of unity within the party, with a commitment to addressing internal concerns ahead of the 2027 elections.

“We are committed to maintaining a peaceful atmosphere in the zone and will continue to engage constructively on issues affecting party cohesion,” the statement noted.

The APC also reaffirmed its intention to engage in issue-based political communication.

Those in attendance included newly elected and returning zonal executive members such as Zonal Secretary, Hon. Isah Sadiq Achida; Zonal Legal Adviser, Barr. Bashir Usaini Dutse; Organising Secretary, Hon. Salisu Uba Tsafe; Youth Leader, Hon. Abdulhamid Umar Ahmed; Women Leader, Hajiya Hadiza Alhaji; Leader of Persons Living with Disabilities, Hon. Dahiru Gambo Rafin Dadi; and Zonal Publicity Secretary, Malam Musa Mailafiya Mada.
