A senatorial aspirant for Ondo South, Engr. Dr. Janet Febisola Adeyemi, has called on leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State to support her emergence as a consensus candidate, pledging to drive economic growth and sustainable development across the district.

In a statement addressed to party leaders, Engr. Adeyemi emphasized the importance of aligning the Ondo State’s development agenda with ongoing national reforms under President Bola Tinubu.

He also commending Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for prioritizing infrastructure and investment-friendly policies.

She noted that while visions for development often abound, the real challenge lies in effective execution, stressing her readiness to bridge that gap through practical experience and strategic engagement.

Highlighting her professional background, Adeyemi pointed to her experience with the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, where she worked on structuring Public-Private Partnership projects.

She also referenced her exposure within the National Assembly and the Presidency, which she said has equipped her with legislative insight and valuable connections necessary for effective representation.

The aspirant further underscored her international engagements in the mining and development sector, noting that her relationships with global investors and institutions could attract meaningful investments into Ondo State.

Adeyemi added that her leadership role in Women in Mining Nigeria has contributed to job creation and the inclusion of women and youth in economic activities.

Speaking on the potential of Ondo South, Adeyemi described the district as richly endowed with natural resources such as bitumen, solid minerals, and vast agricultural opportunities, lamenting that these assets remain underutilized.

She pledged to promote value-chain development, industrialization, and job creation if elected.

According to her, her vision aligns with key priorities identified at the Ondo State Economic Summit, including agriculture, energy, mining, and infrastructure development through PPP initiatives.

She assured that her role in the Senate would focus on facilitating federal support and investment inflows to the district.

Adeyemi urged APC stakeholders to consider the broader strategic implications of their choice of candidate, advocating for leadership that reflects economic competence and forward-thinking governance.

Adeyemi, who participated in the “Space for Change, Walk the Talk” programme organised by the office of Ondo State APC Women Leader, Mrs Ayeola Iji, emphasized the need to give women more chances in leadership positions.

She concluded by appealing for unity within the party and reiterating her commitment to serving as a link between Ondo State, the federal government, and global development opportunities.

The senatorial hopeful maintained that her ambition is driven not by personal interest but by a desire to deliver measurable progress and expand opportunities for the people of Ondo South.
