EcoBagMart Wins Innov8League 4.0, highlighting Africa’s rising startup ecosystem

EcoBagMart, a venture specializing in sustainable packaging solutions, has been named the top winner of Innov8League 4.0, a prestigious global innovation program dedicated to nurturing high-potential entrepreneurs from Africa and the diaspora.

The selection followed an exacting multi-stage evaluation process involving participants from numerous countries. As the cohort’s leading venture, EcoBagMart receives a $5,000 prize package, comprising $1,000 in seed capital and comprehensive advisory, strategic, and operational support to expedite its growth.

Finalists presented innovative solutions in pivotal sectors such as climate technology, food systems, clean energy, and digital infrastructure—domains essential to Africa’s sustained economic advancement.

Ahmed Ogundimu, Co-convener of the competition emphasize that Innov8League functions not merely as a competition, but as a comprehensive ecosystem for venture maturation.

“Innov8League transcends mere recognition, serving as a deliberate launchpad where entrepreneurs refine concepts, access premier expertise, and develop scalable, globally competitive enterprises,” he said.

Co-convener of the project, Akinyemi Iledare added, “Our objective is to forge a structured pathway offering visibility, rigorous feedback, and indispensable networks for enduring success.”

The judging panel comprised distinguished experts in artificial intelligence, venture strategy, finance, and emerging-market innovation. Notable members included Chelsea Iluno, an AI researcher focused on high-performance computing; Ademola Adewuyi, a venture partner with expertise in digital banking and scaling; Kolade Folami, founder of AfroSophia, integrating African knowledge with AI; and Dumebi Ugwuegbulam, a finance professional formerly with Deloitte and JPMorgan Chase. Evaluations prioritized novelty, execution, scalability, and long-term viability.

This edition of Innov8League coincides with heightened international focus on African startup ecosystems, where founders address systemic challenges in sustainability, infrastructure, and service access amid funding constraints.

The programme mitigates early-stage barriers by facilitating connections to sophisticated networks.

Preparations for Innov8League 5.0 are underway, with plans to extend geographic scope and strengthen alliances with global institutions, investors, and ecosystem leaders.

A participant remarked, “The platform affords unparalleled visibility and support that propel businesses forward, irrespective of final rankings.”

Such initiatives are instrumental in elevating Africa’s next generation of globally competitive startups.
