On April 19, 2026, The African Centre will host The Quiet Geometry of Being, a solo exhibition by fine art photographer Orisakwe Emmanuel Chizitere.

Presented as a one-day exhibition, the project brings together a series of atmospheric photographic works that examine stillness, space, and the emotional weight of everyday environments.

Working within the language of fine art photography, Chizitere constructs images that feel both intimate and expansive. His compositions often set within dimly lit urban landscapes use light, shadow, and perspective to explore the quiet tension between presence and absence. Figures appear suspended in moments of transition, inviting viewers to reflect on solitude not as isolation, but as a site of awareness and introspection.

Rather than documenting reality, The Quiet Geometry of Being leans into interpretation. The works emphasize mood and structure, revealing subtle visual rhythms that echo the inner landscapes of human experience. Through this approach, Chizitere positions photography as both observation and meditation.

This exhibition marks a significant moment in the artist’s evolving practice, offering audiences an immersive encounter with a body of work that is contemplative, cinematic, and emotionally resonant.

The African Centre continues to serve as a vital platform for contemporary artistic voices, supporting work that engages with identity, environment, and the evolving narratives of the African diaspora.
