The President of the Nigerian Community Türkiye (NICOT), Prince Emre Magboh, has described former Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, as a true democrat.

Magboh made the remark in a statement issued to journalists on Friday from his office in Istanbul through his Special Adviser on Media, Amaechi Kingsley, while celebrating Chime on the occasion of his birthday.

He said the former governor’s legacies and contributions to governance and development remain enduring and continue to resonate with the people of Enugu State.

In the statement, Magboh noted: “On the joyous occasion of the birthday of His Excellency, Sullivan I. Chime, former Governor of Enugu State, I join family, friends, and well-wishers in celebrating a leader I describe as a true democrat and a rare gift to Enugu State and Nigeria.

“His enduring legacy and contributions to governance and development remain fresh in the hearts of his people. His leadership style, marked by vision, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility, continues to inspire generations long after his tenure.”

Magboh also recalled Chime’s role in fostering unity among indigenes of Enugu State in the diaspora, noting that his efforts helped strengthen community ties and encouraged investment opportunities.

He added that such initiatives created pathways for many young entrepreneurs and professionals who are now making meaningful contributions to society.

The NICOT President further urged aspiring public office holders to emulate Chime’s leadership style, describing his approach to governance as one focused on nation-building and collective progress.

He concluded: “I heartily felicitate with Your Excellency, Sullivan I. Chime, on the occasion of your birthday anniversary. Your life remains a reminder to the people of Enugu State of the value of purposeful leadership and impactful governance. I pray that God grants you continued strength and fulfillment in the years ahead.”
