Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has firmly shut down rumours of a possible departure from the club, declaring that Real Madrid is the “club of my dreams” and that he plans to stay for a long time.
Speaking to the media ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich, the Brazilian star addressed speculation linking him with a summer move to several Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
“At the right time, I will renew and I will stay here for a long time,” Vinicius said.
“Real Madrid is the club of my dreams. I still have a year left on my contract, but I’m very calm. I have the confidence of the president Florentino Pérez.”
Vinicius’ current contract runs until 2027. Reports earlier claimed that Real Madrid offered him a new deal worth £17.5 million per year towards the end of last season, which he and his representatives turned down, believing it was not good enough.
Despite the previous stalemate, Vinicius appeared confident that an agreement would eventually be reached.
He further revealed a special connection with coach Arbeloa as he had with Carlo Ancelloti which had helped in his game.
“I have a special connection with Arbeloa as I had with Ancelotti”.
“He has always made it clear to me what he wants from me. I have always given my best and I will continue to do so”. He said
