The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) recently held its investiture, marking a new chapter for the association.

A total of 46 members of the Association were presented with membership certificates and memorabilia in a well attended induction ceremony, held in Ikeja, Lagos.

The highlight of the event was the inauguration of Wale Adenuga, the founder and chairman of Wale Adenuga Productions, WAP, Limited, as the association’s grand patron while Yinka Adebayo of Procurement, OMG WeCA, was appointed the patron of the association.

Both Adenuga and Adebayo were decorated by the BoT chairman, Dr Opa Williams at the event while veteran broadcaster, Agatha Amata also joined the EMCOAN BoT.

Speaking after receiving the honour, the veteran producer reflected on his long-standing relationship with the association and its evolution over the years.

“As one of the founding fathers of EMCOAN, I am truly proud of what the association has become today,” Adenuga said. “With its league of distinguished members, the organisation has continued to keep its flag flying, ensuring that content creators in this part of the world are properly represented as they pursue both their creative and business endeavours.”

He pledged commitment to advancing EMCOAN’s vision, citing its impact on content creators.

EMCOAN aims to strengthen its support for content creators, promoting Nigerian content globally.

Adenuga’s appointment as grand patron is expected to boost the association’s influence. As Chairman of Wale Adenuga Productions, PEFTI Film Institute, and WAPTV, the veteran producer was visibly honoured by the appointment, which recognizes his decades-long contribution to content creation and industry development.
