By Benjamin Njoku

Dr. Richie John Onaiwu, aka RichieRich, reveals the inspiration behind the Afro Kings of Comedy UK Tour 2026, saying “it’s designed to unite people through laughter and showcase African comedy brilliance on a global stage.” The tour kicks off on June 6, covering six UK cities of London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and more, featuring Okey Bakassi, Destalker, Busy Mouth, and more.

RichieRich says it’s a celebration of African culture, stories, and shared experiences told through laughter. “Afro” reflects broader identity, while “Kings” speaks to the exceptional performers. Ultimately, it’s about uniting people through laughter and showcasing the brilliance of African comedy on a global stage,” he added.

On Okey Bakassi, he says: “He commands humour that’s second to none… Brilliant and the brain behind most comedy content.”

RichieRich, Creative Director and CEO of RichieRich Global Limited, has spent over two decades bridging African talent with international audiences. His events, like Crack Ya Ribs and Mr CumCum Concert, are known for excellence and audience engagement. RichieRich’s journey began in 2005, bringing 2Baba to the UK for the first time.
