AN official of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Mrs. Modupeola Toyin Omolade is presently up in arm against her husband, Mr. Temitope Omolade, over alleged drunkenness and failure to to live up to his financial obligation to the family.
The woman, a resident of No. 37, Anthony Otti Street, Lagos said she got married to the man 20 years ago and they lived together without any hassle until  the man chose to get married to beer and pepper soup which led to his abandoning      his responsibilities to his family.
Mrs Omolade said rather than taking care of the family, her husband daily gathers   his friends at a nearby bar and splash his salary on drink and pepper soup .
Modupeola who said both of them separated in June 2007 when her husband left her for Benin on transfer   said that he has  refused to take care of their children. She said that his daily routine was to drink himself to stupor and and beat her silly when he gets home.
Their marriage is blessed with four children namely; Seun (m) 20 years, Olaide (m) 16 years, Ife (f) 15 years and Bolutife (f) 9 years. She urged the court to compel her husband to take care of   at least one of their four children.
However, in his defence, the man told the court that the woman was unnerved when he threatened to investigate her relationship with a neighbour.
The man who was represented by a lawyer- Mrs. Olayinka Abiola, said though he got the court’s summon late, told the court that he had once challenged her (petitioner) over a    a text message he read in her phone.
But the counsel, promised that despite   what has happened she would still intervene to settle the disagreement between the couple.
She requested for three weeks from the court to enable her settle the matter with the couple, promising to inform the court of latest development.
The matter was adjourned by the court for further hearing.
