Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, has praised the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for what he described as the successful and well-organised conduct of its National Convention in Abuja.
Nwuche, a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), specifically lauded the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, noting that the convention was orderly, peaceful, and reflective of the party’s commitment to democratic ideals.
In a statement, he said the outcome of the exercise had strengthened confidence in the PDP’s ability to organise itself and provide national leadership. He added that the large turnout of delegates from across the federation underscored the party’s enduring strength and widespread appeal.
The former Deputy Speaker also acknowledged the roles played by key stakeholders, including Bukola Saraki, Sule Lamido, Ahmed Makarfi, and Ibrahim Dankwambo, as well as Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro and House Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda, noting that their participation ensured broad-based involvement.
“The large turnout of delegates and party faithful from across the federation underlines the PDP’s enduring strength and national appeal, as well as its central role in Nigeria’s democratic landscape,” Nwuche said.
He further commended the Convention Planning Committee, chaired by former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, for what he described as exceptional organisation and attention to detail.
Nwuche also congratulated the party’s newly elected national officers, including National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed and National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, urging them to carry out their responsibilities with inclusiveness and a strong sense of duty.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the party and called on members nationwide to remain steadfast in their support for the PDP’s collective progress.
